Role Purpose

We are looking for a quantitative working student who combines a solid understanding of finance/accounting with the ability to build models automate workflows and work with data. You dont need to be a finance studentcandidates from mathematics computer science engineering data science or economics are welcome if you are motivated to learn financial reporting and accounting processes.

You will support our local Finance/Accounting team in Frankfurt and help improve reporting closing and analytical processes across Local HGB and US GAAP group reporting working with tools such as Oracle (ERP) Power Query and our reporting/control environments (e.g. Workiva BlackLine).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day Finance & Accounting activities and ad-hoc analytical requests.

• Build and maintain quantitative models for performance tracking (KPIs) forecasting support and management reporting.
• Extract clean and transform data from Finance systems (Oracle and related sources); create robust data pipelines using Excel/Power Query and/or Python.
• Automate recurring reporting and reconciliation workflows; improve speed accuracy and auditability.
• Support month-end close activities and help prepare monthly operating metrics and management decks.
• Perform variance analysis vs. budget/forecast identify key drivers and summarize insights for stakeholders.
• Contribute to Finance process improvement initiatives (digitalization/automation/AI workshops where relevant).

Wir suchen eine:n quantitativ starke:n Werkstudent:in der/die Finance/Accounting versteht und gleichzeitig in der Lage ist Modelle zu bauen Prozesse zu automatisieren und datengetrieben zu arbeiten. Du musst nicht zwingend Finance studierenauch Profile aus Mathematik Informatik Data Science Ingenieurwesen oder VWL/BWL sind willkommen wenn du Interesse an Finanz- und Reportingprozessen mitbringst.

Du unterstützt das Finance/Accounting Team in Frankfurt und arbeitest an Reporting- Closing- und Analyseprozessen rund um Local HGB und US-GAAP Group Reporting u. a. mit Oracle (ERP) Power Query sowie unseren Reporting-/Control-Tools (z. B. Workiva BlackLine).

Aufgaben:

• Unterstützung im Tagesgeschäft Finance & Accounting sowie bei Ad-hoc Analysen.
• Working Student - Quantitative
• Aufbau und Weiterentwicklung quantitativer Modelle für KPIs Performance Tracking und Reporting.
• Datenextraktion -bereinigung und -transformation aus Finance-Systemen (Oracle und angrenzende Datenquellen); Aufbau stabiler Datenflüsse mit Excel/Power Query und/oder Python.
• Automatisierung wiederkehrender Reporting- und Reconciliation-Prozesse (schneller fehlerärmer nachvollziehbarer).
• Unterstützung im Monatsabschluss sowie bei der Erstellung von Operating Metrics und Management-Unterlagen.
• Abweichungsanalysen vs. Budget/Forecast Treiberanalysen und verständliche Aufbereitung für Stakeholder.
• Mitarbeit an Prozessverbesserungen und (wo passend) Digitalisierungs-/AI-Workshops.

Early Careers Requirement Qualifications:

Must-have

• Preferred education or background: Accountancy/ Controlling/ Financial Management/SoftwareEngineering/Mathematics (preferably with 2 years left to study)
• Strong analytical mindset; comfortable working with data and building structured models.
• Very good Excel skills; ideally Power Query (or willingness to learn fast).
• Basic programming capability in Python (pandas preferred) OR strong interest with evidence (projects/courses).
• Strong ownership mentality: you can work independently document work clearly and ask smart questions.
• Fluent in English; German is strongly preferred for local accounting topics. French is an advantage.
• Available to work 20h/week in the office.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Oracle ERP (or other ERP like SAP) and/or accounting processes.
• Familiarity with Workiva and/or BlackLine (or comparable reporting/reconciliation tools).
• Understanding of HGB basics and interest in group reporting (US GAAP environment).
• SQL basics Power BI VBA.

Must-have

• Bevorzugte Ausbildung oder Hintergrund: Rechnungswesen / Controlling / Finanzmanagement/Softwaretechnik/Mathematik (vorzugsweise mit 2 Jahren Reststudienzeit)

• Sehr starke analytische Fähigkeiten und Spaß an Zahlen/Daten.
• Sehr gute Excel-Kenntnisse; idealerweise Power Query (oder hohe Lernbereitschaft).
• Erste Kenntnisse in Python (idealerweise pandas) oder nachweisbares Interesse (Projekte Kurse).
• Eigenständige strukturierte Arbeitsweise inkl. sauberer Dokumentation.
• Sehr gutes Englisch; Deutsch ist für HGB-nahe Themen stark bevorzugt. Französisch ist ein Vorteil.
• Verfügbar um 20Stunden pro Woche im Büro zu arbeiten.
