Artificial Intelligence (AI) Developer

MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Eight (8) or more years of experience in software development or AI/ML engineering including delivery of AI-enabled applications.

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics ora relateddiscipline. Advanced degrees or equivalent experience may be substituted.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS PREFERRED

• Experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and development toolchains.

• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
• Experience supporting Federal IT systems.

The International Trade Administration (ITA) leverages advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to support mission delivery economic competitiveness and data-driven decision-making. To accelerate adoption whilemaintainingsecurity and scalability ITA isestablishingan AI Center of Excellence (AI-CoE) to develop operationalize and sustain AI solutions across the enterprise.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and developAI models algorithms and application componentssupporting mission and operational use cases.

• Preprocess analyze and managelarge and complex datasetsfor AI development.

• Implement and fine-tunemachine learning and deep learning frameworksto improve model performance.

• Integrate AI models intoproduction systems and enterprise platforms.

• Document AI code algorithms and design decisions.

• Support testing validation and deployment across development test and production environments.

• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend enhancements aligned with ITA priorities.
