Job Summary

Introduction

Junior Technician Fibre & Networking (Ballito ISP)

Ballito ISP is looking for a motivated and hands-on Junior Technician to join our growing technical team in Ballito. This role is ideal for someone eager to build experience in fibre installations broadband networking and fault finding with opportunities to grow within the business.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with fibre and broadband installations at customer premises
Perform troubleshooting maintenance and support on network-related issues
Support data and voice networking tasks when required
Work with customer premises equipment (routers ONTs cabling etc.)
Ensure neat professional workmanship and customer service on-site

Requirements

Basic IT / technical knowledge and experience
Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in networking or ISP environments
Competent in basic router configuration (MikroTik experience will be an advantage)
Good understanding of LIT (Last Inch Termination) and fibre work including:
- Fibre termination
- ONT installation and configuration
- Testing and fault-finding
- Splicing knowledge (advantageous)
Experience with wireless networks (PtP / PtMP) will be advantageous
Valid drivers licence (required)
Must be based in Ballito or willing to relocate
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
