The House of Commons Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Project Officer position.
This recruitment and selection process is restricted to Real Property employees.
As a Project Officer you will participate in managing and coordinating (medium sized) construction and refurbishment projects within the Campus Program and Integration assigned portfolio of this role youll oversee the entire project lifecycle from initial planning to close-out ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance in some cases which includes issue resolution and risk management.
As the main point of contact between internal multidisciplinary teams Public Services and Procurement Canada and contractors under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager you will be asked to lead a team of experts in architecture engineering security and IT to ensure projects are executed smoothly. Youll also be asked to monitor construction activities and meet stakeholders on site.
Your ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders and make quick decisions will be essential in driving projects forward. With excellent communication and problem-solving skills youll keep clients and stakeholders informed while resolving any challenges that arise.
Qualifications :
Education :
- Successful completion of post-secondary education in a related field OR acceptable combination of education training and relevant experience.
Experiences :
- Experience in the field of project management including planning and risk management in architecture engineering or construction;
- Experience working with subject matter experts in the fields of architecture engineering security construction or procurement;
- Experience managing and coordinating several medium to large sized construction and/or renovation sub-projects within a program;
- Experience supporting project managers and Senior Program Managers in the delivery of projects during their lifecycle;
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders to drive project success demonstrating strong communication coordination and problem-solving skills.
Assets :
- Familiarity with renovation projects;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities;
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams;
- Knowledge of sustainable and green building practices;
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Strong Project Coordination Skills;
- Knowledge of Fit-Up / Construction Processes;
- Vendor & Contractor Management (Capital Projects);
- Comfortable conducting site visits identifying issues and ensuring compliance with standards;
- Ability to produce clear project briefs progress reports meeting notes and closeout documentation.
