Role: Senior Project Manager
Client: Government of Alberta Ministry of Technology & Innovation
Location: Edmonton AB (Commerce Place) Anticipated 100% Remote within Canada
Contract Term: Approx. 12 months (1790 hours) with a possible 12-month extension
Project Overview
The Government of Alberta is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead two ongoing technology modernization initiatives within the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services (PSES). These projects support digital transformation across Albertas correctional facilities.
Key Projects
Video Visitation Implementation: Completing the rollout of secure video visitation systems to allow individuals in custody to connect with family members and professional visitors.
Correctional WiFi Services: Finalizing secure WiFi infrastructure at the Calgary Correctional Centre (CCC) and Calgary Young Offender Centre (CYOC) to support digital health and operational services.
Preferred Experience
Experience with correctional or public safety technology projects
8 years of change management and stakeholder communication planning
3 years experience working with the Government of Alberta or similar public sector organizations
Strong experience with risk and impact assessments
Key Responsibilities
Lead IT projects from initiation through completion
Manage project governance resources and vendor relationships
Track and resolve project risks and issues
Collaborate with stakeholders including Alberta Health Services and Infrastructure teams
Provide status updates and presentations to senior leadership and steering committees
Working Conditions
Work must be performed within Canada
Local Edmonton candidates may be required for occasional onsite meetings at Commerce Place
Candidate must provide their own laptop compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
Criminal Record Check required
Completion of FOIP and Security Awareness training upon onboarding
