LTS Math Interventionist Job Posting This is a 6-week position starting March 16 2026Bellows Free Academy Fairfax is seeking a skilled student-centered Long-Term Math Interventionist Substitute to support middle and high school students who require targeted instruction to strengthen foundational math skills and improve academic outcomes. The Math Interventionist will work collaboratively with teachers special educators and support staff to provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with curriculum standards and student learning ResponsibilitiesProvide targeted math intervention to middle and high school students through small-group and one-on-one instructionUse assessment data to identify student needs and design appropriate intervention plansCollaborate with classroom math teachers to align interventions with core instructionMonitor student progress and adjust interventions as neededSupport students in developing confidence problem-solving skills and effective math strategiesMaintain accurate records of student progress and intervention outcomesParticipate in team meetings data reviews and professional learning opportunitiesCommunicate regularly with teachers counselors and administrators regarding student progressSupport a positive inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and growthQualificationsBachelors degree in Mathematics Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred)Valid teaching certification or eligibility for licensure in VermontExperience working with middle and/or high school studentsStrong understanding of math instruction intervention strategies and progress monitoringExperience using data to inform instruction and intervention planningStrong communication and collaboration skillsCommitment to meeting the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of studentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Response to Intervention (RTI) Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) or similar frameworksExperience working with students with learning differences or IEP/504 plansFamiliarity with math intervention programs and assessment tools
