Job Summary

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of AI technology transformation and enterprise innovation driving the strategic development execution and scaling of Generative and Agentic AI across Bosch. The role contributes to building a strong AI ecosystem that creates customer value enhances competitiveness and maximizes business impact. It will also act as a key catalyst in Boschs broader technology evolution ensuring AI capabilities are embedded across the companys digital platforms enterprise architectures and data foundations connecting Boschs AI ambitions with its overall technology modernization journey.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

I. Engaging vision enablement & Communication:

  • Craft and articulate a compelling vision: Develop a clear inspiring vision about how Generative AI will transform the organization reshaping how we work creating value for customers and driving measurable business impact.
  • Stakeholder Buy-in: Secure strong support from key executives in the different business units overall leadership and key internal stakeholders by clearly demonstrating the strategic value and ROI of Generative AI initiatives.
  • Internal Engagement & Advocacy: Act as the champion for Generative AI across Bosch. Engage executives departmental heads and associates with clear messages that highlight both opportunities and drive execution. Demystify complex concepts and foster dialogue to build trust confidence and momentum for adoption.

II. Strategic Direction & Roadmap:

  • Develop and execute a Bosch-wide GenAI and AI Technology Strategy: Define a comprehensive vision and roadmap that integrates AI scaling with Boschs broader enterprise technology transformation including cloud modernization software-defined systems and the digital backbone.
  • Position AI as a core driver of technology transformation: Ensure alignment between AI strategy and Boschs enterprise architecture evolution leveraging modernization programs to accelerate scalability and interoperability.
  • Identification of promising use cases with significant impact on P&L: Proactively discover evaluate and prioritize GenAI use cases that demonstrate clear potential for revenue generation cost reduction efficiency improvements or new product/service creation. This requires strong business acumen and an understanding of Boschs diverse operations.

III. Technology & Platform Development:

  • AI & Data Architecture Leadership: Lead the evolution of Boschs AI and data architecture transitioning from siloed systems to cloud-native modular and interoperable environments that enable AI at scale. Establish a unified enterprise-grade architecture that supports reuse federated deployment and domain-oriented data ownership.
  • Scalable and Reusable AI Portfolio: Design and maintain a robust GenAI platform including foundational models infrastructure and MLOps frameworks ensuring interoperability with Boschs technology stack and digital platforms.
  • AI-Enabled Technology Transformation: Drive convergence of AI and Boschs core technology programs modernizing infrastructure rearchitecting data flows and embedding intelligence into digital products and software development lifecycles. Collaborate closely with IT digital and engineering leadership to co-shape future-ready technology foundations.

IV. Execution & Scaling:

  • Scaling business benefits with Gen AI/Agentic AI: Establish and lead an operational framework to rapidly prototype develop test and deploy GenAI solutions across the organization. This implies managing a pipeline of projects allocating resources and streamlining processes.
  • Leading Core Team as main catalyst to realize the business potential of GenAI: Lead and mentor a high-performing core team of GenAI experts (e.g. ML engineers data scientists product managers architects) to act as key enablers and accelerators for GenAI initiatives across Bosch. Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Supporting GenAI scaling via infrastucture and data pipelines: Ensure that GenAI scaling efforts are supported by adaptable infrastructure and data pipelines enabling rapid prototyping deployment and continuous improvement across diverse technology environments.

Qualifications :

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Foundation:

Core competencies required to build and scale AI capabilities across the organization.

  • Data & AI Architecture Mastery: Deep understanding of modern data and AI architectures (data mesh cloud-native integration federated learning environments) and how they enable scalable AI deployment.
  • Enterprise Technology Transformation Experience: Proven ability to integrate AI strategies with enterprise modernization efforts (e.g. ERP transformation digital platforms cloud migration and software-defined systems).
  • AI/ML Expertise: Understanding of machine learning deep learning NLP and generative AI technologies.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Integration: Familiarity with AI-enabling platforms (Azure AI AWS GCP etc.) and edge deployments.
  • AI Governance & Ethics: Understanding of responsible AI model interpretability bias mitigation and compliance frameworks.
  • Automation & Analytics: Proficiency in leveraging AI for process automation predictive analytics and decision optimization.
  • Emerging Tech Awareness: Up-to-date with advancements in agentic AI multimodal models and AI safety frameworks.

Impactful Communication:

  • Value Proposition Articulation: Clearly define and communicate the tangible benefits of GenAI aligning its capabilities with Boschs strategic imperatives (e.g. efficiency gains innovation potential market differentiation).
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate common understanding and foster buy-in across all relevant business units and functions through clear persuasive dialogue.
  • Clarity & Conciseness: Ability to translate complex technical topics into business-friendly language and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Thought Leadership Presence: Represent Bosch as a leading voice in the responsible and innovative application of GenAI within the industry.

Strategic Foresight:

  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and validate high-impact GenAI use cases that directly support Boschs business objectives and long-term vision.
  • Roadmap Development: Contribute to the formulation of a clear phased GenAI strategy and implementation roadmap ensuring a structured approach to innovation.
  • Risk Mitigation & Ethical Integration: Evaluate potential technical ethical and operational risks associated with GenAI deployment. Develop strategies for responsible trustworthy implementation aligning with Boschs commitment to quality and integrity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Synergy Creation: Bridge expertise across departments (R&D Product IT Legal) to ensure seamless integration of GenAI solutions into existing and new Bosch ecosystems.
  • Change Management Facilitation: Guide teams through the adoption of new GenAI methodologies and tools fostering an agile and adaptive corporate culture.
  • Talent Nurturing: Identify and develop internal competencies in GenAI ensuring Bosch possesses the requisite internal expertise.

Additional requirements:

  • Completed studies (masters degree/diploma) with software and digital relevance (e.g. Computer Science).
  • 10 years of leadership experience in the IT or Software industry (comprising a focus on technology and business); you have successfully proven to lead leaders in a global environment.
  • Significant experience in AI strategy development or product management with a recent focus on Generative AI.
  • Experience in a large complex global organization preferred.
  • Fluent in English fluency in German is an asset.
