Job Summary
- The Zone Mechanic performs all corrective repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment such as patient rooms patient beds ice machines induction units and refrigerators.
- PREVENTATIVE AND CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE: Performs 95% of assigned PMs every month on equipment such as patient rooms patient beds ice machines induction units and refrigerators. Performs all corrective repairs in a timely manner and correctly the first time Performs frontline and routine maintenance in assigned areas and when necessary looks for cost savings through second source vendors. Focuses work towards customer satisfaction taking the time to assess customer needs and - making self available for questions and advice. Works independently on low and mid level repairs and preventative maintenance when help is needed seeks a resource to provide necessary knowledge. Assists in the orientation and cross training of other zone mechanics. Demonstrates competency for resetting substations in an emergency during a power loss as well as knowledge to be able to transfer RO/DI water system into bypass when required
Qualifications :
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Vocational / Technical Degree (Preferred)
Certification / Licensure / Registration
- Not Applicable No Certification and Licensure Requirements required or preferred
Experience and Skills
- 3 years related experience (Required)
Physical Requirements and Physical Demands
- Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Hears alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice.
- Must be able to accurately document pertinent information either by writing or typing.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks/motion.
- Must have good eye-hand-foot coordination.*Must have good manual dexterity.
