Position Summary
The Speech Language Pathologist provides diagnostic therapeutic and consultative services to students with speech language and communication needs. The SLP works as part of the schools special education team supporting students access to the curriculum and helping them achieve their individualized goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and document findings.
- Develop and implement individualized Speech Language therapy plans based on student IEPs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers paraprofessionals and support staff to integrate communication strategies in the classroom.
- Monitor and document student progress adjusting goals and strategies as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on goals services and accommodations.
- Support students with articulation fluency expressive/receptive language social communication and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) as needed.
- Maintain compliance with school district and federal special education requirements.
