Deliver the in-home care services to maintain the health and improve the quality of life of clients so they can live safely in the community. Provide personal care health and safety monitoring and light housekeeping to clients. Report to the Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor.
Essential functions
DECISION MAKING
Perform a limited number of routine tasks prescribed by clients care plan. Work independently throughout the day and prioritize work each day. Report to supervisor any change in the clients environment physical or mental condition.
KNOWLEDGE
Working knowledge of:
Has knowledge of medical equipment on usage and basic maintenance such as Hoyer lift gait belt wheelchairs oxygen tanks catheters glucometer and any specialized equipment required by the care plan.
Stay current in the knowledge of their profession by completing at least 12 hours of in-service annually
ABILITIES
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed in the clients home and in public areas. It requires repeated standing bending stooping pulling pushing and lifting of weights up to 25lbs unassisted.
None of the essential functions of the position can be performed virtually away from the assigned places of work.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 18 years of age
- An NA must hold a certificate of completion for a state-approved education program that includes both instruction on the principle of nursing and supervised clinical work curriculum or maintains licensure as a CNA issued by the Viigina Board of Nursing.Must provide proof of current PPD vaccination or complete a Tuberculosis screening.
FLSA status: This is a non-exempt position.
