Mechanical Engineer Associate I

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL) a Planned Systems International (PSI) company is hiring for a Mechanical Engineer Associate I in Richland WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland WA and operates manages and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering Inc. (Oak Ridge TN) and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg MD).

Support the 222-S Complex with mechanical engineering project engineering and other duties as assigned with general supervision. Performs a variety of engineering duties including but not limited to: new equipment design and upgrades of existing 222-S systems developing and approving work packages and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) conducting field walk downs developing specifications performing and/or reviewing calculations testing design/procedural reviews and assisting in the planning and execution of field work. Performs engineering work in accordance with applicable codes standards procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering or project tasks. Demonstrates beginning problem solving and exercise of judgment as required on lower level work details and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

• Under direct supervision work on design work planning field execution and project closeout and cooperate with other engineers performing related phases of technical work.
• Use and/or application of codes and standards engineering principles to prepare mechanical designs and other design engineering documents as assigned.
• Implement and revise Preventative Maintenance (PM) for assigned systems. Support the team planning process to develop work instruction to safely implement designs within the 222-S Complex. Assist with field modifications and acceptance testing and perform field work complete walk downs.
• Under direct supervision prepare technical reports review designs plans and shop drawings. Assist with mechanical analysis using MathCad AutoCAD Smart Plant and other software. Apply working knowledge of mechanical codes manuals and standards to engineering design.
• Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• One year of nuclear engineering experience.

Grade 14: $81900 - $94013

The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidates education training and/or relevant experience.
