Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled detail-oriented and compassionate Hospital Chef to prepare safe nutritious and patient-centered meals for patients staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the role of nutrition in healing particularly within an oncology and clinical care environment. This role requires strict adherence to food safety standards collaboration with clinical teams and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals that meet medical and dietary requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve balanced hygienic and medically appropriate meals for patients staff and visitors.

Implement and manage special dietary requirements including but not limited to diabetic low-sodium renal soft blended and therapeutic diets.

Collaborate closely with doctors nurses and dietitians to ensure meals align with prescribed dietary instructions and patient care plans.

Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations hygiene standards and hospital infection prevention and control policies.

Plan and develop menus that are nutritious culturally appropriate cost-effective and aligned with hospital standards.

Supervise food preparation processes to ensure consistency quality and portion control.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas equipment and food storage facilities at all times.

Monitor food inventory manage supplies control costs and minimize food waste.

Ensure timely meal preparation and service according to hospital schedules.

Participate in routine kitchen inspections and audits to ensure regulatory compliance.

Train and support kitchen assistants or support staff where applicable.
Qualifications & Requirements
-
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Chef preferably in a hospital healthcare or institutional setting.

Formal training or certification in Culinary Arts Catering Food Safety or Nutrition is an added advantage.

Sound knowledge of nutrition special diets food hygiene and safe food handling practices.

Ability to work effectively in a structured regulated healthcare environment.

Strong physical stamina and ability to work flexible shifts including weekends if required.

High level of personal hygiene professionalism and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while also functioning well within a multidisciplinary team.
