We are a fast-growing furniture manufacturing company seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to support our finance and accounting operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial activities monitoring production and material costs supporting compliance and providing accurate financial information to management. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a structured hands-on manufacturing environment and is ready to resume immediately.
Financial Operations & Bookkeeping
Manage day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable accounts receivable expense tracking and general ledger entries.
Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
Reconciliation & Record Management
Perform monthly bank vendor and account reconciliations.
Maintain accurate up-to-date and well-organized financial records (digital and physical).
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist in preparing monthly management accounts financial statements and variance analysis.
Provide timely financial reports to support management decision-making.
Cost & Inventory Accounting
Track and monitor production costs raw materials inventory usage and job costing specific to furniture manufacturing.
Support inventory valuation and stock reconciliation exercises.
Compliance & Statutory Reporting
Support statutory compliance including VAT WHT PAYE and other regulatory filings.
Assist with documentation for annual audits and tax filings.
Audit & Controls
Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules reconciliations and required documentation.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures.
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related discipline.
Minimum of 24 years relevant accounting experience (manufacturing experience is an added advantage).
Completion of NYSC with accounting/finance-related duties is required.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping general ledger management and basic financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables VLOOKUP spreadsheets).
Working knowledge or willingness to learn accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage).
Professional Competencies
Good understanding of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory compliance.
High attention to detail strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Actively pursuing or willing to pursue a professional accounting certification (ICAN ACCA) is an added advantage.
