Cleaning Operative

LOCATION: BP - SUNBURY TW16 7LN

SHIFT PATTERN: 40 Hours Per Week 1.30PM till 10PM Monday to Friday

PAY RATE: 13.45 per hour

Overview:

The Periodic Cleaner is responsible for delivering high-quality deep-cleaning services across the site. This role includes specialist floor care carpet maintenance and supporting the team by covering absences when required. The position requires experience using cleaning machinery and the ability to work independently to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Carpet Cleaning

o Operate carpet extraction machines and carpet cleaning equipment.

o Perform periodic deep-cleaning of carpets including stain removal and full clean of carpets.

o Ensure carpets are cleaned to required hygiene and appearance standards.

Floor Care

o Scrub buff and deep-clean hard floors using scrubbing and rotary machines.

o Apply appropriate chemicals and products for different floor types.

o Maintain floors through periodic treatment

Deep Cleaning

o Carry out scheduled periodic deep-cleaning tasks across designated areas.

o Clean high-touch and difficult-to-reach areas (e.g. skirting boards corners behind appliances).

o Ensure all deep-cleaning work is completed safely and efficiently.

Absence Cover

o Support the cleaning team by covering staff absences when needed.

o Perform routine daily cleaning duties to maintain consistent service levels.

Equipment Handling

o Safely operate scrubbing machines rotary machines and carpet cleaning machines.

o Carry out basic maintenance and report any faults or issues.

o Ensure machinery is cleaned and stored correctly after use.

Health & Safety

o Follow all COSHH site safety rules and cleaning procedures.

o Use correct PPE and maintain safe working practices.

o Report hazards incidents or maintenance issues promptly.

Skills & Experience:

Confident in using scrubbing machines and carpet extraction machines.

Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
