About the Role:
We are looking for a SeniorTestEngineer to contribute to impactful projects that advance smart energy solutions.
Youlljoin a supportive collaborative team buildinga highly available microservicebased platform that delivers enduser authentication authorization and tenantmanagement capabilities for multiple customerfacing cloud applications developed across Itron.
Itron isconsolidatingits multiple software solutions around the globe into a world-wide massive scale IoT/Cloud platform that is designed to serve thousands of utility companies span 100countriesand manage 500M devices. We are creatinga highly available microservice based platform solution to provide end-user authenticationauthorizationand tenant-management capabilities for several customer-facing cloud applications developed by other teams at Itron.
The platform is based on recent technologies like Angular 20 .NETKubernetesand Microsoft Azure. We do agile development with SCRUM and use Azure DevOps for source control and CI/CD.
WhatYoullDo:
Design develop and execute automated endtoendtests for both backend microservices and frontend applications.
Writemaintain andoptimizeautomatedtestsuitesto ensure fast reliable execution.
Deploy run andmonitorautomatedtests in Azurebased environments.
Participate in product design and architecture reviews toidentifyrisks gaps andtestability concerns early in the development cycle.
Develop service mocks andtestutilities to support efficient and scalable automation.
Collaborate closely with developers product owners and other engineering teams to improve product quality and platform reliability.
Become a subjectmatter expert in the domain platform architecture and customer use cases.
Lead automation initiatives contribute toteststrategy and mentor team members in best practices.
Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes tools and frameworks.
WhatWereLooking For:
5 years of experience in automated testing of web applications including backend APIs and microservices.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies testing strategies and automation best practices.
Handson experience designing and implementing endtoend test automation using modern programming languages and frameworks.
Experience with UI and API automation using industrystandard tools (e.g. Selenium Playwright CypressRestAssured etc.)
Familiarity with REST APIs Git CI/CD pipelines and cloudbased environments(Azure preferred).
Familiarity with Linux virtual machines and cloud environments.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a globally distributed team.
Bachelors orMasters degree in Computer Science Engineering orrelatedfield.
Fluent Englishand Hungarian both written and spoken.
Nice to have skills & experience:
Experience with Azure cloud resources build/release pipelines and PowerShell.
Experience withtestautomation using or C# based tools.
Experience leading automation initiatives or mentoring team members.
