Join our team and provide hands-on leadership to seasonal staff in maintaining seven municipal cemeteries and a traditional burial ground.
As Crew Leader you will oversee the horticulture and turf maintenance teams ensuring the preservation of beautiful and tranquil parkland spaces. You will also provide guidance and training to staff to uphold quality standards and manage various site-related responsibilities.

What will you do
- Prioritize daily tasks and implement work plans
- Assign tasks provide direction and ensure safe timely work
- Oversee work set expectations and report progress
- Monitor and manage staff attendance performance and timesheets
- Lead and assist with safe equipment operation (mowers skid steers crane etc)
- Assign crews to seasonal maintenance (turf landscaping flower planting/maintenance concrete work)
- Resolve equipment issues and ensure maintenance and safety
- Mentor train and orient staff; maintain training records
- Inspect work and ensure quality standards
- Manage work assignments via established plans and emergent situations
- Use various software (SAP LMS etc) and contributes into disciplinary investigations
- Manage equipment inventory and maintenance
- Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments
- Develop and implement SOPs and train staff
- Other related duties as assigned

- Minimum 2 year post secondary diploma in Turf/Horticulture/Landscaping Management or related discipline
- 3 years progressively responsible experience in parks landscaping or turf maintenance operation
Assets:
- Alberta Landscape Pesticide Applicators License or Assistant
- Concrete work experience
- Experience with SAP

- Experience monitoring work plans for on-time completion efficient output high quality and cost-effectiveness

- Knowledge of City policies procedures bylaws legislation and the collective agreement between the City of Edmonton and CUPE local 30
- Experience in monitoring coaching and resolving issues with employees

Conditions of Employment:
- Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Drivers permit is a requirement of this position
