Description

The Operations Supervisor supports the smooth day-to-day functioning of campus operations by coordinating people processes and resources across two campuses and multiple service areas. Serving as a key bridge between frontline operations staff and school leadership this role provides hands-on support clear communication and practical problem-solving to ensure a safe well-maintained and welcoming environment for students faculty and staff. The Operations Supervisor responds to daily operational needs helps prioritize work supports team effectiveness and collaborates with departments to ensure campus operations align with the rhythm and needs of the school community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Employee Supervision and Training: Leading mentoring and motivating a team; managing staff schedules and work assignments; conducting performance evaluations and training new hires; and ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
  • Workflow Management: Overseeing daily operations to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow coordinating resources (equipment materials personnel) to meet productivity and quality targets.
  • Policy and Compliance Enforcement: Implementing and enforcing company policies procedures and safety regulations and ensuring compliance with relevant industry and government standards.
  • Problem-Solving and Improvement: Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing solutions; troubleshooting operational issues promptly and addressing root causes to prevent recurrence.
  • Administrative tasks such as inventory control.
  • Inter-departmental Coordination: Collaborating with other departments to streamline operations and ensure cross-functional alignment.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and Communication: Strong ability to lead and motivate a team with excellent listening verbal and written communication skills to convey goals provide feedback and resolve conflicts.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Aptitude for analyzing performance data identifying inefficiencies and developing effective solutions.
  • Organizational & Time Management: The ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize effectively and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with operational software ERP systems and industry-specific tools (e.g. project management software like Asana or Trello).
  • Experience & Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required while a bachelors degree in Business Administration Operations Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in operations or a prior supervisory role is required.
  • Strong knowledge and 5 years of work experience in facilities operations and maintenance of buildings and building systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with common building hardware such as locks doors door openers lavatory fixtures lighting fixtures and equipment plumbing electrical appliances light construction wall patching and painting etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to cover multiple locations and facility sites needing repairs and maintenance
  • Demonstrable skills with tools including hand and power tools and in repair and fabrication
  • Understanding of basic OSHA requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds
  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions including heat cold and rain
  • Positive attitude
  • Team player with the ability to take and give clear instructions
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently
  • Possess strong initiative and a positive attitude towards all work
  • Proactive in identifying and soliciting work and addressing in a timely manner
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong listening verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues customers and the public
  • Background/fingerprint check required
  • California Motor Vehicle operators license

Compensation and Benefits

The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $75000 - $100000. The starting salary is based upon but not limited to several factors that include type and years of experience education level and expertise.
