Job Summary
Under supervision assists in operations. May help set up the operating room prepare and transport patients for surgery adjust lights and equipment pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeons assistants hold retractors cut sutures and help count sponges needles supplies and instruments.Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
- Ability to multitask can work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Licenses and Credentials
Certified Surgical Technologist CST
National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred
Experience
Experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting 2-3 years required and Four (4) years experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting; committee and leadership experience 3-5 years preferred
