Job Summary
Position Summary
The Lab Technician supports the laboratory and quality teams by performing routine and specialised testing of raw materials in-process samples and finished products. The role helps ensure that Vita-Pakts products meet internal specifications customer requirements and regulatory standards. The Lab Technician maintains lab equipment records data and assists with investigations and continuous improvement of lab operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare label and analyse laboratory samples (raw materials in-process and finished products) according to established protocols.
Perform routine chemical physical and (if applicable) microbiological tests to verify product attributes (e.g. solids moisture pulp content oil content acidity etc.).
Record data compile test results prepare graphs/charts and report findings to the supervisor or quality team.
Maintain calibrate clean and sanitise laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning.
Keep the laboratory workspace organised clean and compliant with safety protocols Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and plant safety rules.
Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory supplies reagents and consumables; order replacements as needed.
Assist with investigations of non-conforming results: help collect data document conditions support root-cause analysis and corrective action.
Support the implementation and maintenance of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) including updating documentation when processes change.
Ensure proper sample storage chain of custody and timely disposal of waste according to plant/hazardous material protocols.
Work closely with production quality and technical teams to ensure sample flow data integrity and timely communication of results.
Participate in training and cross-training (e.g. for shifts alternate lab locations) as needed.
May assist in special projects such as new product validation method development or continuous improvement of lab processes.
