GENERAL SUMMARY
Within the goals set by the Pre-ETS Program Manager for the Pre-Employment Transition Service Program for Cape Abilities the Vocational Specialist will implement services as designed in individualized vocational plans and curriculums.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ø Fosters good working relationship with employers and school personnel
Ø Completes vocational assessments interest inventory job development internship placement and business inquiries
Ø Implementation of vocational plans/ Pre-ETS curriculum for each student assigned
Ø Provides timely progress reports
Ø Assists in classroom instruction
Ø Consults with Pre-ETS team to develop individualized assessments for each assigned student and develops Workplace Experience opportunities based on assessments individual interests and team input
Ø Contributes ideas during team meetings regarding community exploration business contacts and networking strategies for all students
Ø Provides job coaching for students in community-based Workplace Experiences throughout worksite locations as assigned
Ø Assists and identifies goals geared toward the advancement and fulfillment of students service plans
Ø Maintains regular correspondence with teachers/ MassAbility Vocational Counselors of students assigned to caseload
Ø Develops and maintains contact with employers of students to track progress successes concerns and reports to Pre-ETS team
Ø Attends all meetings as requested
Ø Fosters maximum amount of students independence whenever individual is ready
Ø Serves as a role model
Ø Implements vocational curriculum in compliance MassAbility/School personnel.
Ø Maintains professional relationships with contracting agency other agencies and internal staff.
Ø Serves as mandated reporter for suspected abuse and/or neglect of individuals to the Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC)
Ø Advocates for individuals

PREPARATION KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ø High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ø Bachelors degree and/or educational experience preferred.
Ø Minimum 2 years prior related experience.
Ø Ability to teach and model occupational tasks.
Ø Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with coworkers and supported individuals and read fluently.
Ø Valid drivers license in the state of Massachusetts required.
Ø Successful completion of all state and Agency mandated trainings required upon hire.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Ø No supervisory responsibility.
