The preplacement testing required for this title includes:
1. Four years of experience as an automotive repairperson ormechanic performing service at a recognized automotive repair establishment;
OR
Completion of an auto mechanics apprenticeship or an associatedegree in automotive technology AND two years of experience as an automotiverepairperson or mechanic performing service at a recognized automotive repairestablishment;
OR
Completion of a certificate in automotive technology ANDthree years of experience as an automotive repairperson or mechanic performingservice at a recognized automotive repair establishment;
2. Valid drivers license at the time of appointment andthroughout employment.
3. A good drivingrecord at time of appointment and throughout employment.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may beconsidered.

The current salary range (Pay Range 7GN) is$69768-$85608annuallyand the current resident incentive salary range for City of Milwaukee residentsis$72559-$89032 above the minimum ispossible based upon level of experience and other qualifications and is subjectto approval.
Employees will receive an additional 5% when performingspecial assignments.
