The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of children aged 35

  • Assist in delivering structured and play-based learning activities

  • Support children with additional needs including SEN and EAL to ensure inclusive learning opportunities

  • Observe and record childrens progress providing feedback to teachers

  • Encourage childrens independence curiosity and confidence in the classroom

  • Help create a safe engaging and stimulating learning environment

You will also help with the preparation of resources assist in daily routines and contribute to school trips and extracurricular activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children in whole-class small-group and one-to-one activities

  • Delivering play-based learning experiences under the guidance of the class teacher

  • Supporting childrens social emotional and behavioural development

  • Helping manage classroom routines and transitions

  • Preparing resources and learning materials

  • Monitoring and documenting childrens development and progress

  • Supporting children with SEN EAL or other additional needs

  • Assisting with outdoor learning creative activities and physical play

  • Participating in team meetings training and school events

  • Supporting extracurricular activities and school outings


The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has experience working with children aged 35

  • Understands early years pedagogy and child development principles

  • Is patient nurturing and approachable

  • Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Can support children with SEN or EAL effectively
