Clerk SE SHARS Medicaid
Employment Term (days): 200
Pay Scale: Paraprofessional/Clerical 3
Primary Purpose:
Monitors the School Health and Related Services (SHARS) and Random Moment Time Study (RMTS) programs for special education services. Assists SHARS Medicaid Coordinator with day-to-day operation of the Medicaid programs and process claims for the district special education eligible students (including assisting campus ARD case managers in ensuring that IEP documentation meets Medicaid billing standards improving efficiency and accuracy of the SHARS billing process providing training and monitoring the documentation of all medical services to ensure completion). Analyze district data to continuously enhance the districts process for optimizing reimbursement on the SHARS Cost Report and remaining current on billing regulations and best practices.
Qualification Guidelines:
Education/Certifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Experience with Medical billing and Embrace software program use (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to use personal computer and Medicaid related software to create spreadsheets and do word Processing
Knowledge of Medicaid billing system and familiarity with the reports menu and its functions
Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to maintain professional behavior appearance and work ethic to represent the District in a positive manner at all times Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to staff and a diversity of audiences in a comprehensive and organized manner Skill in mathematical calculations and detailed work
Skill in processing a high volume of transactions
Proficiency in typing and file maintenance
