VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center in beautiful Mission Valley San Diego California is excited to announce the expansion of our specialty services with the addition of afull-time Veterinary Integrative Medicine Specialist. With the opening of our brand-new state-of-the-art26000-square-foot hospital in July 2024 we are entering an exciting phase of growth and innovationand we invite you to be part of it.

24/7 Emergency & Critical Care

Internal Medicine

Surgery

Neurology & Neurosurgery

Oncology

Advanced Imaging (CT / MRI)

Cardiology

ICU & Specialty Nursing Teams

We are now expanding intoIntegrative Medicineto provide comprehensive whole-patient care that blends advanced Western medicine with evidence-based complementary therapies.

Position Overview

We are seeking aboard-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Integrative Medicine Specialistwho is passionate about providing individualized multimodal treatment plans. This role offers the opportunity to build and grow a new integrative service line within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary referral hospital.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead our Integrative Medicine service

Perform patient assessments and create customized therapy plans

Collaborate with specialty and emergency clinicians

Utilize and/or develop services such as:

Acupuncture

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy integration

Pain management protocols

Nutritional therapy

Laser therapy and other advanced modalities

Compensation

  • Compensation is negotiable based on education experience and other relevant credentials. The annual salary for this position is $125000.

  • This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.

Qualifications

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university or equivalent

  • Licensure in good standing to practice in (state) or the ability to obtain

  • Residency Trained or Diplomate Board Certification

  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
