The North Carolina Department of Labor is charged by statute with promoting the health safety and general well-being of the workers in the state. The laws and programs the Department administers affect every worker in the state. The Department is organized into three primary divisions which carry out the Departments principle regulatory enforcement and promotional programs and the administrative operations. The three primary divisions have divisions bureaus and offices under each which carry out the specific and specialized portions of the NCDOL mission. Employee will conduct in-service inspections and verify necessary calculations during the installation operation maintenance alteration and/or repair of boilers and pressure vessels and guides contractors and manufacturers for repairs. Provides information guidance and unofficial interpretation of adopted codes and standards; investigates accidents and incidents; provides written and electronic reports; provides audit services; schedules inspections audits repair activities and consultations. Employee will travel throughout North Carolina and overnights stays will be required.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $53164.00 - $83070.00

Minimum Education and Experience

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school or a General Equivalent Development (GED) diploma; and four years of experience in the construction installation operation or maintenance of boilers and pressure vessels; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Degrees must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
Necessary Special Qualifications Successful completion of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessels Inspectors In-Service Inspector Commission examination within the first 9 months of employment. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
