About the Role
Reporting to the Director Marketing and Communications the Project Manageris responsible forend-to-end project management of the Web Summit Vancouver (WSV) project. This role operates within a consortium of government and industry partners including the Government of Canada throughPacifiCan the Province of British Columbia Innovate BC Destination Vancouver and Invest Vancouver working collaboratively to leverage Web Summits residence in Vancouver to deliver meaningful outcomes in global visibility investment attraction and economic growth for British Columbia.
This role will leadproject managementcoordinationof funders and other stakeholders performance tracking project communications reporting and other project-related initiatives. The Project Manager ensures the successful delivery of all project milestonesmaintainingalignment with strategicobjectives and managing day-to-day operations across multiple stakeholders and funding partners.
$76000-$100000per annum pluspayment in lieu of benefits until theemployeeiseligible for the Agencyscomprehensivebenefits package.

Location: Vancouver BC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid role with a requirement to work in-office at least 2 days per week
Employment Type:Full-time fixed-term contract through to August 2027with possibility ofextension.
What You Will Be Doing
Project Management:
- Lead the overall project management of the Web Summit Vancouver projectmanaging timelines deliverables dependencies and milestones.
- Collaborate with Project Owner and consortium of funders to develop andmaintainan annual Project Plan and other key document with defined scope timelines deliverables and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Monitor project progress against approved plansidentifyingrisks issues and deviations; escalate and recommend mitigation strategies asrequired.
- Maintain core project management artifacts including risk registers and status reports.
- Prepare and deliver annual project close-out reports including performance outcomes and lessons learned.
Financial Tracking and Coordination:
- Track project revenues and expenditures in collaboration with core project team members and working groups.
- Identifyand analyze budget variances and providetimelyreporting to the Finance team for review forecasting and adjustment.
- Ensureexpenditurescomply withorganizationalpolicies andmeet financial and contractual reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with Finance to prepare reports and updates on financial performance and project compliance for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Ensure project activities are aligned with approved budgets and funding agreements by flagging potential financial risks or constraints early.
Stakeholder and Ecosystem Engagement:
- Prepare regular project status updates and decision materials to the Event Host Committee.
- Facilitate working group and core project team meetings involving representatives across funding partners ensuring that agendas materials and follow-up actions are effectively managed.
- Coordinate with funding partners on the development andexecutiona WSV ticket allocation plan.
- Support Project Owner in meetings between Innovate BC and the Web Summit corporate team to ensure partnershipobjectivesand commitments are met.

What You Will Need
- Minimum five (5) years experience as a Project or Program Manager or equivalent role delivering complex multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Proven experience in project management of large-scale events or complex multi-stakeholder projects preferably within innovation and technology sectors
- Post-secondary degree in business with considerable project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of the innovation ecosystem including startups industry partners research institutions and government agencies.
- Proficiencyin project management tools (e.g. Asana MS Project).
- Experience working with online information management systems is an asset
- Advanced planning organizational analytical and administrative skills
- Proficiencyin MS Office software particularly Word Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of project governance frameworksfinancial management risk management and contract compliance.
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience inestablishingand maintaining strong effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholdersfacilitatingcollaboration and partnerships to achieve program objectives
- Consistently takes initiative toidentifyopportunities and challenges driving towards measurable results and continuous improvement in project delivery
- Advanced communication facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to direct and manage multiple activities whilemaintainingattention to detail
- Ability to makeappropriate recommendationsregardingthe progress of projects and disbursement of funds based on guidelines and standards
