Design Intern (Year in Placement )

At Ensera Design we select a number of brilliant students to join our team for a variety of work placements. Previous interns with Ensera Design have gone on to work in amazing careers and many of them are part of the Ensera Design team now. This opportunity is for a year in placement internship (starting September 2026) working as a member of our Design team on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.

Throughout the placement youll apply your skills to producing high quality work for our clients. Youll be given the opportunity to gain valuable experience and a deeper understanding of the design process within an award-winning consultancy and benefit from the support of a mentor within the very experienced Ensera Design team to help you on your way.

Youll have the chance to develop expertise and business skills during your placement and can build relationships with influential and experienced Ensera Design staff.

About you

Youll be partway through your Design degree and looking for industrial experience before completing your studies.

Youll be enthusiastic eager to learn and ready to apply your academic knowledge to real challenges.

Youll be able to work the majority of the time from the central Bristol office our flexible working policy ensures flexibility when you need it but we see the benefit of being around the Design Team and the cross functional team to build relationships and develop your craft.

Your skills and experience

Whilst you do not need to meet all of these points please ensure you meet the majority of them before making an application:

• Working towards a Design-based degree ideally at a 2:1 level or higher.

• Enthusiasm to deliver high quality work on a range of projects.

• Willingness to work independently on a project or task actively seeking advice or support as needed.

• Experience working to a brief and delivering work within specific timescales.

• Excellent visual communication skills.

• Willingness to learn new skills and try new methods.

• Ability to work compassionately designing products for different people.

• Experience with Solidworks and Keyshot is a nice to have.

We currently pay all our interns the National Living Wage.
