The Department of Psychology at Shepherd Center in Atlanta Georgia is pleased to announce that it is recruiting a Psychometrist to join an established and expanding department that has several neuropsychologists rehabilitation counselors and psychometrists. Shepherd Center seeks candidates who are compassionate and caring for patients and their families/caregivers. Other characteristics we look for include flexibility self-motivation and direction ability to learn and apply knowledge quickly; proficiency in organizing and completing multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner; effective and appropriate communication skills in all interactions; and consistent demonstration of proficiency in area of expertise.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Psychometrist administers and scores neuropsychological tests with patients at Shepherd Center
- Responsible for administering & scoring neuropsychological and/or psychological tests to in patients with acute brain injuries and spinal cord injuries as well as outpatients under the supervision of a neuropsychologist.
- Responsible for demographic & neuropsychological data entry into REDCap database for clinical research purposes.
- Provides behavioral observations of patients & maintains interface with neuropsychologists- Responsible for maintenance of accurate records confidentiality of test results and the security of testing materials.
- Assists with training of other psychometrists fellows and students as requested by supervisor- Participates in department committees and/or research projects as requested by supervisor.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
- Masters degree in Psychology Rehabilitation Counseling Counseling Psychology or related field preferred.
- Must have education and training in administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests.
REQUIRED LICENSURE
REQUIRED MINIMUM CERTIFICATION
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- Experience in testing individuals with neurological disorders and other medical conditions are preferred.
REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS
- Must be able to administer a full range of neuropsychological and psychological tests including fixed battery procedures intellectual and academic assessment instruments and personally assessment inventories and measures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Specialist in Psychometry (CSP)
