Job Summary

Role Impact:

The Analyst Research & Insights is responsible for providing support for the development and maintenance of our internal insight tools. This position is responsible for supporting the building and servicing of robust self-service tools that provide accessible actionable insights. This role will primarily focus on CFs Canadian portfolio of retail and office assets but could explore other asset classes and geographies as needed. This role collaborates with various internal departments at all levels of management including leasing operations marketing development finance legal and investments to create and execute strategic projects.

The Analyst Research & Insights will use their background in data analysis visualization and reporting tools to help in the transformation of data into actionable insights. They will create user-friendly reports and presentations that not only empower stakeholders to make informed decisions but also contribute to growing the organizations analytical capabilities and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

What you will deliver:

  • Support the end-to-end ESRI Enterprise ecosystem to democratize spatial intelligence delivering a centralized self-service portal that empowered non-technical stakeholders to independently access and analyze complex datasets.
  • Perform intermediate spatial and market analysis including trade area development competitive mapping and customer location analytics to provide actionable insights for retail office and residential sectors.
  • Support the team with research analysis and insights that facilitate the delivery of CFs strategic plan and special projects requested by the executive team and senior management. This could include analyses regarding growth opportunities operational efficiency and effectiveness innovation concepts and business model impacts from industry changes and new trends.
  • Through the use of tools support high-level project requirements into an outline of required research and analyses to satisfy the projects deliverables; establish work plans monitor progress against goals and conduct status updates to adjust approaches as required
  • Support the day-to-day delivery of project/analysis insights including scope definition priority setting research analysis insight synthesis report creation and communication including updates of CFs business environment assessment and key business drivers competitive and industry advances and other analyses as required.
  • Collaborate with project team members from across the business to gain input on approaches analyses and the feasibility of recommendations as well as outline pilot approaches and/or rollout plans
  • Stay current on new industry trends or disruptors in commercial real estate retail and office and technology advances/changes impacting these industries; over time increase knowledge of other asset classes and geographies that CF owns and operates in
  • Prepare and present memoranda and presentations for senior management including the executive team
  • Periodically assist other departments including leasing operations marketing development finance legal and investments on special projects or other strategic analyses

What you need to succeed:

  • An undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Geography Real Estate or Business/Commerce
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a multi-sector real estate consulting retail private equity or investment banking firm in a financial analysis internal consulting or corporate strategy capacity
  • Experience with Alteryx Snowflake Tableau ESRI suite and programming languages such as Python/SQL is required
  • Proficient in spatial analysis and quantitative data visualization
  • Experience with the Environics suite of products is considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel and PowerPoint) Statistics and use of statistical software such as; SPSS
  • Highly proficient analytical/quantitative/financial modelling skills in Microsoft Excel as well as presentation creation skills in PowerPoint; Possession of (or working towards) a CFA/MBA or other professional designation is considered an asset
  • Real estate industry intelligence knowledge is considered an asset

Starting base salary for this job level may range from $58194 to $77592. The actual base salary offered will consider several factors including but not limited to the role experiences skills & qualifications location market and internal considerations; with this context CF reserves the right to pay above this range.
