BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary purpose of the position is to help with veterinary laboratory diagnosis testing and related routine medical procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Obtaining blood samples for testing.
- Helping the Veterinarian during emergency medical procedures.
- Overseeing and monitoring the collection of urine samples from racehorses and for obtaining test samples from draft animals at pulling events at agricultural fairs.
- Preparing for shipment and delivering collected samples to designated testing facilities.
- Transporting and assisting in the setup of on-site testing and other equipment.
- Delivering paperwork and money to the Augusta office.
- Delivering supplies from Augusta to the work site.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of experience handling horses including participation in or familiarization with urine and/or blood sample collection activities.
Preference will be given to those with experience in working with equine and bovine animals and knowledge of routine/emergency medical care of large animals.
