Job Summary

The pharmacy unit plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. The unit is responsible for dispensing medications accurately and efficiently maintaining comprehensive medication inventory and control including narcotics and controlled substances. This includes selecting calculating measuring preparing (both sterile and non-sterile) packaging labeling charging and crediting various pharmacy products like intravenous addition the pharmacy ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
How youll contribute
A Pharmacy Technician Hourly/PRNwho excels in this role will:
Participates in the in-patient and out-patient medication distribution and information management processes.
Answer telephones and electronic messages.
Enter maintain and assure the accuracy of all information in the Pharmacy Departments patient database.
Receive and process medication orders and prescriptions via medication order/entry-locate assemble package and label drug doses (new orders unit-dose cycle fill and out-patient prescriptions) deliver completed orders.
Clarify questionable requests and solve distribution problems.
Post charges/credits for transactions that are not completed via order-entry.
Assemble stock orders.

What were looking for
Applicants should be a High School graduate or equivalent. PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification within 1 year of hire or actively pursuing certification (as determined by pharmacy management & not to exceed an additional 6 months) or Licensed Practical Nurse.
