Hourly Rate: $53.48

Job Overview
A healthcare is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support its Pediatric Bio Behavioral / Psychiatry Unit. This role requires strong psychiatric nursing experience with pediatric experience preferred. The LPN will provide direct patient care while supporting the interdisciplinary care team in an inpatient pediatric behavioral health setting.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with behavioral health and psychiatric needs
Administer medications and monitor patient responses as ordered
Obtain and document vital signs and patient assessments
Assist physicians and registered nurses with exams procedures and treatment plans
Support children experiencing emotional distress trauma or mental illness
Utilize de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to maintain patient safety
Educate patients and families on mental health conditions treatments and care plans
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RNs providers therapists and social workers
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
Work every other weekend and select holidays as required
Requirements
Active New York State LPN License
Psychiatric nursing experience
Pediatric nursing experience preferred
Ability to work in an acute behavioral health environment
Strong communication observation and patient-care skills
Ability to function under the direction of an RN or healthcare provider
