The Clinical Specialist will help Merz Therapeutics deliver best-in-class support to physicians patients and LTC partners. This role will support Merz Therapeutics spasticity management program for patients in long-term care homes.

Job description:

We are looking to hire full-time or part-time Nurse (RN or RPN) to provide coordination clinical support and medical education for specialty medical clinics at LTC homes across British Columbia.

The preferred candidates brings some experience within the long-term care environment.

  • Living within British Columbia
  • An excellent communicator
  • Highly organized & comfortable working independently
  • Caring & compassionate
  • Able to travel by car daily & occasionally overnight (car allowance provided)
  • A good problem-solver
  • Comfortable speaking to small groups

Description of Duties:

Clinical:

  • Assist physicians during specialty medical clinics in LTC homes
  • Reconstitute injectable medications
  • Assist with patient assessment or treatments
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies
  • Prepare and set up medical equipment
  • Prepare patient rooms pre and post procedure
  • Counsel patients caregivers and staff
  • Perform infection prevention and control procedures

Administrative Duties

  • Communicate with LTC home staff before and after clinics
  • Confirm clinic details with physicians LTC staff pharmacies and other stakeholders
  • Liaise with pharmacy provider to confirm all medication needs
  • Assist with documentation and recordkeeping

Educational:

  • Provide medical education to LTC staff
