As a Statutory planner you will work alongside a friendly and engaged team managing multiple planning applications you will have the opportunity to be exposed to a large and unique landscape that includes coastline state-significant agricultural and industrial land and suburbs and townships with unique character and values.
You will make an impact by
- Processing planning permit applications amendments to permits the approval of plans and the extension of planning permits.
- Preparing and presenting submissions to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal in relation to applications for the review of a decision.
- Providing information and advice in response to telephone and counter enquiries on planning matters.
- Preparing responses to written enquiries on planning matters.
- Providing assistanceand support to management including briefings on issues organising meetings or other duties asappropriate.
- Playing an active role in the implementation of actions to improve the performance of the Department in undertaking statutory planning activities.
- Providing assistanceand advice to other Council service providers on planning matters.
- Assisting with administrative activities associated with the operation of the department including the maintenance of records and files.
You will bring
- A sound knowledge and understanding of statutory planning processes including planning-related legislation.
- An ability toclearly and concisely communicate information and advicein both written and verbal form.
- Ability to research and analyse information and prepare concise reports and recommendations.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively plan organise and manage your own time and workload including achieving specific outcomes within settimeframesagainst conflicting priorities.
- A tertiary qualification in planning or a related discipline.
