Job Summary

STV is seeking a Construction Inspector for our Transportation Northeast department in Hartford CT

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect construction activities related to highway/bridges facilities/buildings or rail/transit projects.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents specifications and regulatory requirements by reviewing and verifying contractor submissions.
  • Identify and document nonconforming work and ensure timely corrective action
  • Review project documentation including RFIs submittals daily reports and change orders.
  • Complete daily work reports with photographs and progress documentation
  • Track and document quantities of work performed by the contractor
  • Resolve construction problems and challenges in the field
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders including contractors engineers and agency representatives to facilitate project success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science with 1 year of experience or NICET Level 1 with 2 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection. Experience on transportation infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes contract administration and construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and methods
  • Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
  • Excellent organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to work on-site as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of COMPASS and AASHTOWare Project
  • NETTCP Concrete Inspector ACI Concrete Certification NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector NACE AMP or BCI Coating Inspector and ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor certifications.

Compensation Range:

$58030.00 - $65943.00
