Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support laboratory operations in a high-acuity healthcare environment. This role requires strong venipuncture skills experience working in trauma settings and the ability to float across qualified units as needed based on census demands.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and specimen collection on patients across various acuity levels
Accurately label process and transport specimens according to laboratory protocols
Utilize electronic medical records for order verification and documentation
Maintain infection control patient safety and specimen integrity standards
Provide professional patient interaction including with critically ill or trauma patients
Float to other qualified laboratory units or campuses as required based on operational needs
Required Experience & Qualifications
Prior Level 1 Trauma facility experience (required)
Recent travel experience required (no first-time travelers)
Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
Active BLS certification
Required Certification
One of the following phlebotomy certifications is required:
NPS
ASCP
AMT
ASPT
NHA
ACA
NCCT
NPCE
NPA
NAPT
NHCO
