Our CPG Capital Insights Office is looking for a Manager Data Architecture and Analytics to join our this role you will manage and provide input to the day-to-day execution of Data Architecture and Analytics team implementing CPG Capital Insights data solutions to address CPG business needs. You will provide leadership and expertise in the development of CPG wide data architecture reference models data dictionary and roadmaps including define data pipelines validate data sources specify and maintain data repositories and manage incremental releases of data assets for BI and reporting to ensure business stakeholder outcomes are realized. This role will oversee a team of Data Architecture Specialists and will work closely with the BI Data Visualization and Reporting team to enable value-added BI solutions for CPG Capital Insights.
What will I be doing
- Provides input to the development of data product roadmaps to oversee and support data product development and eventual delivery to production.
- Leads defines and monitors Data Architecture and Analytics teams yearly operating plan and performance objectives to monitor for quality and excellent delivery of services. Leads the team regarding the direction of existing and potential corporate / CPG-wide solutions working with delivery partners emerging solutions and new products
- Manages team towards successful technical data asset delivery governance and validation of outcomes for assigned dataset products.
- Supports the development and build-out of the data assets and data ownership vision for the CPG Capital Insights Organization.
- Identifies new sources of data and new methods to improve data mining.
- Develops and maintains data pipelines that are automated and scalable and tracks progress through development resolving problems managing changes in collaboration with stakeholders and addresses business expectations in the event of development issues.
- Partners with each functional area and representatives across boundary systems (i.e. Finance Procurement Scheduling etc.) to standardize new and maintain existing shared data elements and to establish consistent data definitions.
- Maintains the relationship with I&IT in order to be at the forefront of data acquisition storage and BI technology.
- Advises CPG Capital Insights leadership on the progress of internal data transfer relationships initiatives and direction of tools and methodology that would improve the data and insights maturity of the organization.
- Manages the alignment of activities with overall I&IT and corporate data governance frameworks standards and methodologies that support business requirements.
- Identifies and recommends the practical application of emerging technology to improve business performance and reduce risk. This includes bringing innovative ideas forward to satisfy unmet needs and solve existing problems.
- Partners with each functional area and representatives across boundary systems (i.e. Finance Procurement Scheduling etc.) to standardize new and maintain existing shared data elements and to establish consistent data definitions.
- Advises stakeholders on data issues including quality availability and usability.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science Data Science Information Technology Computer Engineering Business Administration or a related discipline or a combination of education training and progressive experience in solution delivery leadership positions deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to the success of midsize-to-large initiatives with above average levels of complexity and business criticality.
- Agile certification (Agile Certified Professional Certified Scrum Product Owner) is an asset. Certified in Software Development Methodologies is an asset.
- Expert knowledge of the principles practices and methods of Software Delivery Lifecycle to manage the delivery of data solutions and BI product releases; translate 1218 month Product Roadmaps into executable plans; validate that products are delivered effectively through selective review of product designs configurations/developments artifacts and quality control results.
- Must have experience in working with data modeling and analyzing large volumes of data. Fluent in relational database streaming data processing concepts knowledge of current data management practices and development standards (naming objects/schema/dataflow etc) and a checklist to govern PROD deployment.
- Experience designing medallion architecture delivering and supporting Data Platforms with high availability that meet CPGs Data Strategy requirements using Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform technology
- Strong expertise in metadata management including data dictionary development data cataloging and Reporting Master Data Management (MDM) practices
- Technical expertise in the use and application of data modelling database design development investigative and data mining methods and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of relational database database management skills familiarity with dimensional data models and data warehouse concepts. Fluent with relational databases MSSQL Oracle
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stacks such as Power Pivot SSRS SSIS and SSAS is an added advantage.
- Experience in compiling and managing large datasets the use of relevant data statistical packages and demonstrated understanding of advanced data analytical techniques such as data preparation and analysis data cleaning extraction and interpretation.
- Highly proficient in reading and writing advance SQL queries data analysis and experience with at least one big data coding languages like Python R. and Java.
- Experience in data-mapping logical data modeling and ETL (Extract Transform and Load) Report development. Previous experience with various APIs for data extraction.
- Experience leading a team of data engineers/architects in support of data product delivery.
- Familiarity with current and emerging data analysis and data management technologies
