In this role you will play an essential part in the chemical processing of aircraft components carefully preparing and handling parts to meet precise engineering specifications. Your expertise will guide the operation of process tanks ensuring accurate metal removal through controlled chemical etching while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality protocols. You will manage the entire workflowfrom reviewing work orders and verifying prior operations to racking parts for processing monitoring tank conditions and performing detailed inspections using precision measuring tools. Collaboration and communication are key as you coordinate with team members and supervisors to maintain seamless operations and uphold environmental and safety standards.

Position Responsibilities:
Obtain work package from Kanban system ready-to-work rack or as assigned by area lead or supervisor; review tie-in from prior shift and verify prior operations are complete.
Review Work Order (W/O) drawings Boeing (BAC) specifications and other necessary documents to determine work requirements etch rates tank times and racking procedures. Use online information systems (e.g. Web CMES) as needed.
Check scribe and trim lines on parts before processing; prepare test parts by masking or other methods as required.
Operate material handling equipment (e.g. electric stacker overhead crane) to move heavy parts safely; seek assistance when needed.
Rack or hang parts in baskets or on racks ensuring full submersion in the etchant tank; attach spacers and weights to prevent floating.
Operate process tank equipment to selectively remove metal according to engineering specifications including single multiple steps and tapers; monitor dip times tank levels temperatures and etch rates; rotate parts as required.
Add etchant to tanks and notify Batteryman when chemical adjustments or tank maintenance are needed.
Rinse parts thoroughly after processing to remove etchant residues.
Use precision measuring tools (e.g. micrometers scales gauges) to measure parts and calculate etch times to achieve finish dimensions.
Route completed parts to the next workstation; match W/O with parts unrack wrap and load parts into material handling equipment as required.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g. alodine solvents) in accordance with approved procedures.
Leave clear oral or written tie-in instructions for the following shift to ensure continuity.
Communicate with supervisor area lead Chemical Processing Manager (CPM) or co-workers when assistance is needed or problems arise.
May lead work with and provide guidance to lower classified employees.
Perform related tasks such as stripping cleaning and rinsing parts prior to etching anodizing or alodining to meet finish specifications.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching handling turning twisting lifting lowering climbing balancing bending kneeling crouching and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals solvents and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools sharp cutters and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes hands/arms and feet while performing job duties.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications:
1 years of experience working with precision measuring tools.
1 years of experience handling chemicals and/or hazardous materials (i.e. isopropyl alcohol and metals)
1 years of experience using basic math (e.g. addition subtraction multiplication and division)
1 years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions reading and interpreting blueprints drawings or specifications
Must be physically able to lift 35 or more pounds during a shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 years of hand-on experience with overhead cranes

Typical Education & Experience:
High school graduate or GED preferred.
