EMT-B (Kuwait)

Job Location: Kuwait

The EMT-B will utilize their knowledge and proficiency of evidenced-based medical practice and International SOS Government Medical Services Inc. protocols to manage unexpected and emergent situations and treat a variety of injuries and illnesses in a prompt and professional manner. The EMT will support the provision of direct and indirect medical care to patients in emergent situations and will competently function as a member of the team to provide patient centered medical care in the pre-hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital emergency medical care of simple and multiple system traumas.
• Assist the Paramedic in determining the nature and extent of illness or injury and establishing priorities for required emergency care.
• Assist the Paramedic in rendering emergency medical care to all patients.
• Operate all emergency vehicles as the primary driver with due diligence for the safety of others.
• Restocking EMS units once supplies are received as well as assisting other clinic operators with restocking.
• Maintain equipment tools and protective clothing in a serviceable ready-response condition.
• Performs other duties and assignments as required.
• Completes required organizational compliance education including assigned requirements that are client-specified for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications :

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to assess adult and pediatric patients in pre-hospital setting.
• Ability to successfully perform BLS interventions in accordance with protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient IT skills including use of electronic medical records systems.
• Ability to function with accuracy and efficiency in high pressure or emergent situations.
• Ability to respond calmly in emergency situations.
• Cultural sensitivity and awareness with the willingness to work with a foreign national patient population.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively work with persons of diverse age and economic background in a culturally competent manner.
• Must be able to manage and provide concise directions to supporting staff.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing work conditions and responsibilities.

Education and Work Experienced Required:

• Possession of an EMT Level Certification from the National Registry (NREMT).
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of EMT experience in a busy 911 system.
• Experience in a remote setting preferred.
• Prior military or fire experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned including the ability to perform physically demanding training activities.
• Must be able to pass a Mod 17 physical and dental exam.

Other Special Qualifications:

• Must be able to read write and speak English to effectively communicate.
• This position is unaccompanied. No pets.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is preferred.
• US DOS clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
• Must be able to relocate to project.
• A valid passport from country of record with 18 months remaining is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay.

Travel / Rotation Requirements:

• Some travel may be required.

Additional Information :

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data. 

Comp Range: Min $59000     Max $65000
