Job Summary
Were looking for a Operational Risk Senior Specialist to join our growing Payment Operations team in Tallinn.
Your mission is to identify operational risks and controls working with operational product and other teams to coordinate assessment mitigation and monitoring of operational risks. Youll drive risk awareness culture within Payment Operations and across the company. Youll be responsible for identifying assessing monitoring and risk mitigation initiatives across different Payment Operations teams and youre expected to drive projects that impact the whole organisation.
Heres how youll add value to the team:
- Help teams analyse new and existing products and operational processes assessing risks and working with stakeholders to reduce risks to an acceptable level;
- Proactively identify risks inefficiencies and improvement opportunities and initiate strategic projects to address them;
- Independently execute various risk-related tasks such as monitoring controls conduct risk assessments analyze data and investigate potential issues;
- Assess and test existing controls work with stakeholders to improve existing controls and implement new ones;
- Drive risk awareness across Payment Operations and ensure alignment in risk management policies procedures and methodologies across the whole organisation;
- Cooperate with various other teams in Wise including Group Risk Compliance Finance Audit;
- Drive risk mitigation projects and ensure their timely completion. Own issue remediation activities using our risk management tool (Audit Board) to ensure appropriate risk focused prioritisation;
- Perform monitoring routines over various topics reporting the results.
Qualifications :
- Youre placed in Tallinn Estonia or willing to relocate here (were supporting relocation for this role but you must have a right to work in Estonia e.g. EU citizen)
- Youve solid experience in working with operational risk management either in 1st or 2nd Line of Defence teams. Experience in a FinTech is a bonus.
- Youre data-driven able to prioritise the value add measure the impact and have a proven track record of moving metrics and reaching your KPI goals.
- Youve a proven ability to identify assess and analyze complex risks.
- Youve a keen eye for detail and are resilient when facing difficult tasks.
- Youve a strong understanding of risk management frameworks methodologies and tools.
- Youve strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Youve experience as a project manager and are able to drive larger projects.
- You take responsibility for your domain and take initiative.
- Youre a great communicator. Youll quickly pick up on how best to communicate effectively across different audiences and when either giving or receiving feedback.
- You explain problems clearly and include others in the team to discuss solutions. Youre able to persuade others and you arent afraid to challenge something when you need to.
- Youve experience in working across different teams from operational product development to external partners and youre comfortable taking responsibility in challenging situations.
- Your intellectual curiosity has no limit and this is your guiding light. You have the self-awareness to understand when you dont know something and the humility to learn.
