Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented communications professional for an Emerging Marketing Communications Advisor Internal Communications role. As a member of the international Strategic Communications and Marketing team supporting Canada and the UK you will help craft and deliver internal communications and events that connect employees to our goals enhance collaboration build engagement and promote a culture of two-way communication.

This role is ideal for a communications professional with 12 years of relevant experience who is a strong writer highly organized and eager to learn and grow in a collaborative fast-paced environment.

What youll do

  • You are a strong writer with a sharp eye for detail. You draft edit proofread and distribute internal communications across multiple channels ensuring accuracy clarity consistent messaging and adherence to brand accessibility and approval standards. You support the execution of internal communications plans aligned with company goals culture and values.
  • You can simplify the message. With guidance from senior team members you translate complex or technical information into clear employee-friendly content that resonates with diverse audiences internationally. You apply established tone and voice guidelines to ensure communications feel clear consistent and human.
  • You are organized and adaptable. You support multiple communications projects simultaneously helping manage timelines and deliverables while maintaining a high standard of quality. You support internal communications across several different mediums/channels ensuring messaging remains clear timely and employee focused.
  • You help keep our colleagues informed. You play an active role in collecting stories and curating our monthly employee newsletter to help our international colleagues stay connected to the business and each other.
  • You enjoy bringing people together. You assist with planning and executing internal eventsvirtual hybrid and in-personand provide communications and logistical support for select external events such as tradeshows conferences and community activities.
  • You are curious and improvement focused. You track engagement metrics (e.g. email opens intranet views event attendance) and gathering employee feedback to support continuous improvement of internal communications. You infuse AI into the way you work.
  • You align with our mission vision and values and believe in giving back. You support internal and external communications related to corporate social responsibility initiatives and community engagement.
  • You collaborate and pitch in. As part of a small but mighty team you are comfortable leaning in supporting teammates and contributing to a wide range of marketing and communications initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in journalism communications public relations or a related field
  • 12 years of experience in communications internal communications marketing communications or a related role (co-op internship or early-career experience considered)
  • Strong writing editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Interest in learning and working with AI digital communication tools platforms and basic analytics
  • French (intermediate or above) is considered an asset
  • We work flexibly with a minimum of two days per week in the office. Due to the nature of our work occasional overtime may be required

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

The expected Salary range for this position is $62000 - $80000 CAD Annual.
