About the role
Were searching for a standout full-stack engineer with a deep product instinct - someone who cares as much about the problem as the solution. Youll take on challenges that genuinely havent been solved before and help define how we approach them!
In this senior role youll shape the full stack end to end from our mobile and web surfaces through to the backend and data systems that drive our devices. Youll ship robust thoughtful code and help lift the bar on how we build. AI is shifting how we operate and youll play a central part in using it well across our engineering practice. Expect to be hands-on collaborative and moving quickly: delivering features tightening performance and influencing how our teams work. We care about how you think - curious grounded practical and someone who takes real ownership.
What youll do
- Work across the full stack - contributing to the design and delivery of scalable secure and reliable systems for our web and mobile apps services and data pipelines.
- Contribute to smart architectural calls on user interfaces design systems services APIs data models and infrastructure.
- Work closely with frontend hardware data design and product teams to ship high-impact features quickly.
- Apply AI tools (like Claude Code Copilot or Cursor) to improve team velocity while keeping systems easy to understand and evolve.
- Maintain the standard for thoughtful engineering - clean observable and easy to evolve code and systems.
- Support and mentor other engineers through design conversations code reviews and generous context sharing.
- Stay hands-on - helping shape the product not just the code.
- Contribute to the reliability and performance of our systems - especially when things get tricky.
- Help evolve our testing strategies CI/CD workflows and infrastructure patterns.
- Youll contribute to setting the pace and quality bar for full-stack engineering at Halter.
Youll thrive in this role if you
- Have designed and delivered complex full-stack systems (backend services and web/mobile applications) in production and have the experience (and scars) to show for it.
- Bring deep technical expertise across the stack but are happy to use the right tool for the job.
- Think like a product engineer: you care about the customer experience not just clean code and have the experience to back this.
- Know how to use AI tools well - not just as shortcuts but to lift team output and focus on the harder stuff.
- Have experience supporting and mentoring other engineers to do their best work.
- Understand how to build and scale modern web/mobile applications REST APIs distributed systems and event-driven services.
- Are comfortable with both relational and non-relational databases.
- Have worked in cloud environments - AWS is a bonus.
- Are comfortable in fast-moving ambiguous environments where adaptability beats perfection. We work hard.
- Ideally have backend experience with Go or systems that integrate with hardware or IoT.
- Have deep React and ideally React Native experience.A degree in software engineering (or equivalent) is nice to have but not essential.
