Job Summary

Reporting Line

  • Reports to Health & Safety and Operational Compliance and Excellence (H&S and OCE) Deputy Director

 

Primary Responsibilities    

  • Responsible for ensuring organizations Corporate Governance Business Continuity and HSE system processes and policies are established implemented and maintained.
  • Supervises H&S and OCE Support Supervisor when performing HSE tasks such as but not limited to:
    • the maintenance and continual improvement of the organizations national quality health safety environmental and energy (QHSEE) management systems such as but not limited to ISO 9001 ISO ISO 45001 ISO 17025 ISO 17020.
    • Conducts internal audit and training relevant to the management systems such as but not limited to ISO 9001 ISO ISO 45001 ISO 17025 ISO 17020 Corporate Governance Operational Integrity and SAT Audit.
    • Assists in the achievement of the divisions objectives and targets aligned with the corporate directives by providing support and active participation in the different Corporate Social Responsibility activities and other activities led by the OMD.
  • Ensures that objectives and expectations are met and that divisions and function teams are performing effectively and in line with the global & countrys Top Page and H&S Leading Performance Index.
  • Reporting on country HSE performance and needs for continuous improvements through facilitating process improvement and cascading to the other Safety Officers.
  • Ensure that Business Continuity Procedures are updated and conduct BCP testing annually.
  • Reduction of Occupational incident and illnesses in SGS Philippines entities and satellite offices
  • Responsible in implementing Global Objectives in attaining its ZAP in order to achieve the goal of Best in Class in safety.
  • Participate in conducting incident investigation.
  • Responsible for the security of personal information collected during trainings in compliance to the local Data Privacy Law (DPL) or Republic Act 10173.
  • Ensure that SAT audits are conducted on a yearly basis to all sites with medium to high-risk rating

Specific Responsibilities   

  • Liaise with the business and function Directors and representatives with regards to meeting HSE management objectives plans and key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate training on Health and Safety Business Continuity Corporate Governance and other related topics.
  • Coordinate and implement corporate social responsibility initiatives including partnerships employee volunteer programs impact assessment and communication efforts.
  • Assist in the annual management review.
  • Assist all Divisions in addressing Health and Safety Integrity issues and concerns.
  • Ensure that all HSE related incidents are reported in Crystal Incident Reporting System.
  • Ensure that all regulatory permits and licenses are secured and renewed on time.
  • Ensure that all DOLE reports are submitted based on the required timeline.
  • Assist in doing Risk Assessment to the different Business Lines.
  • Monitor the disposal of hazardous waste and other laboratory wastes.
  • Conduct audits to all SGG Philippines entities satellite and on-site offices.
  • Liaise with building Admin for Emergency Evacuation drill at least twice a year.
  • Operate to the highest standards of ethics in accordance with SGS Code of Integrity.
  • Perform other tasks that Global H&S may assign.
  • Actively promotes good housekeeping and safe use of equipment.
  • Participates in incident investigations involving SGS and 3rd party personnel.
  • Work closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in safeguarding personal information collected during H&S BC and CG training and audits.

Qualifications :

Profile

  • 5 years work experience in related field
  • Education:    Degree holder of any 4-year Business discipline or engineering courses
  • Experience:  ISO 45001 ISO 14001 ISO 22301 audit knowledge and experiences and DOLE Safety accreditation is an advantage
  • Expert knowledge on data privacy law is not required but the candidate must have a strong capability and ability to understand legal and technical/IT issues; 
  • Experience in regulatory project management is a plus;
  • Excellent project management skills and experience.
  • Good knowledge of SGS company and services.
  • Good data and analytical skills necessary to understand & synthesize large quantities of information across complex project and good ability to identify emerging risk areas;
  • Good personal communication skills and ability to share information and interact with SGS Corporate and local stakeholders.
  • Clear understanding of critical path and ability to be pragmatic and proactive;

Required Skills

Experience/Technical Knowledge

  • Has a strong auditing and training skills (any of these an advantage)
    • Has the ability to make professional judgements with strong analytical skills problem-solving skills
  • Experience in project management Lean or any process improvement methodology an advantage
  • Office system applications: Excel PowerPoint Word or any related desktop applications
  • Has the ability to work and travel to satellite offices.

Language

    • Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
