Software Engineer (Java) Cloud Security

What are we looking for

We are looking for a disciplined and curious engineer for our fast-growing Cloud Security productline who understands that a security platform is only as good as its first this role you will be the primary builder of the handshake between our customers diverse cloud ecosystems and our security platform. Your primary mission is the onboarding discovery phase: writing the logic to identify customer accounts gather metadata and ensure a rock-solid connection. You arent just writing code; you are building the foundation of trust. If our connectivity checks fail or provide poor feedback the customers security journey stops before it even begins.

You enjoy the nuances of backend development primarily in Java and are also comfortable (or excited to become) switching gears to Go when the service demands it. Youll thrive here if you enjoy the challenge of making a complex multi-step onboarding process feel seamless for thousands of customers. We are a product-oriented organization so we look for engineers who ask why as much as howensuring every line of code directly improves customer satisfaction and system stability.

Finally we seek someone who values operational harmony. Because we collaborate daily with other teams we need an engineer who understands that code isnt finished until its performant and observable. Youll be responsible for ensuring your services run efficiently within Kubernetes and dont overwhelm our shared databases. While you dont need to be a Terraform expert on day one a passion for building clean maintainable and production-ready systems is desirable.

What will you do

• Contribute to the design implementation (mostly Java occasional Go) and deployment of our cloud onboarding software platform. Communication between our microservices is facilitated using gRPC REST GraphQL APIs and Kafka depending on specific requirements.
• Implement solutions across multiple cloud providers (AWS GCP Azure etc.) and utilise tools like Terraform ArgoCD Helm and Kubernetes to manage services.
• Work closely with product managers designers and SREs to deliver high-quality features that prioritise both functionality and system stability.
• Write clean maintainable and well-tested code; employing Test-Driven-Development techniques and ensuring that our onboarding services are resilient to the complexities of diverse cloud environments.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews leveraging feedback from senior peers to strengthen your architectural and engineering skills.

What skills and knowledge should you bring

• Several years of professional backend software development experience in Java; familiarity with or a willingness to master Go.
• Experience with building services running in AWS GCP Azure and/or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with Terraform Kubernetes or Helm is a significant advantage.
