This position provides assessment admissions academic financial career transfer and general/specialized academic divisional advising to prospective new and current Lake Superior College students to assist with academic success persistence graduation and transfer. Provide ongoing academic financial and career guidance to support student success.
Salary Range:
$25.67 - $35.96
Minimum Qualifications
Strong oral and written communication skills
Decision making skills along with the ability to communicate and collaborate with others
Ability to assess individual student needs and identify applicable resources
Strong ability to learn understand and explain admissions academic and financial requirements and college policies
Experience working with a diverse population of students
Personal computing/technology skills working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and experience with and comfort utilizing multiple types of technology to provide advising services
Preferred Qualification
Masters degree in student personnel education counseling or related field or Bachelors degree
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Two years of experience working in higher education
Previous experience in admissions academic career or financial aid advising
Familiarity with D2L ISRS Salesforce or other CRM.
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
8:00am - 4:30pm / Monday - Friday
