Overview
A Registered Dietitian is responsible for performing major clinical nutrition activities on all patient care units including screening assessing and educating patients in accordance with established procedures.
Responsibilities
Completes comprehensive patient nutritional assessments and reassessments by analyzing subjective and objective information identifying nutrition problems and diagnosis providing appropriate recommendations and establishing goals for patients. Review medical records interview patients and patient family members and communicate with allied health professionals as needed to complete appropriate nutrition screens assessments and educations; document using approved charting methods in a timely manner as outlined by policies and procedures. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to nursing medical staff and other disciplines as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition / Dietetics. Current Registered Dietitian status with the Commission of Dietetic Registration. Previous clinical nutrition experience in an acute care setting preferred including experience on the following units: medical surgical critical care labor and delivery and mother baby. Knowledge of all regulatory and professional standards. Exemplary communication and problem solving skills.
