Job Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Pastor and in accordance with the Cornerstone Chapel Articles of Faith the Researcher will research various topics assigned by the Senior Pastor and the Executive Director of Communications. Topics may include but are not limited to: Biblical content religious history religious writings and commentary world history politics and state and national events. He or she will review information for accuracy and ensure alignment with the views of Cornerstone Chapel and its Senior Pastor. Research may be used in speaking engagements sermons podcasts events publishing and more. He or she will also research available Cornerstone Chapel content (sermons study guides etc.) and organize information to develop a database for use by other staff members.
He or she will learn and operate a variety of software programs related to research and dissemination. Administrative tasks will be required (i.e. expense tracking).He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance and completing all tasks with excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Degree preferred; bachelors degree or associates degree with an emphasis in communications or related coursework/experience
Experience
- 2-3 years working in communications position preferred; prior research experience required
Certifications / Licenses
- Successful completion of a thorough background investigation
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Superb written verbal and editing skills with an excellent command of grammar and sentence structure
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented
- Proficiency in working with Hebrew and Greek preferred
- Ability to use and learn a variety of software programs
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- A team player with a collaborative and flexible attitude
- Communicates clearly and concisely
- Ability to perform research using a number of databases and tools
- Keeps up-to-date on various news and social media platforms
Technologies
- Advanced computer literacy
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 suite

- Develops support materials for the Senior Pastor for speaking engagements sermons podcasts or events
- Meets with the Executive Director of Communications and the communications team weekly to collaborate on the creation and dissemination of church content
- Conducts in-depth research on relevant cultural and Biblical topics
- Specializes in researching historical cultural and theological aspects of the Bible and historical and current events
- Provides Biblical insight on detailed reports
- Maintains quality and accuracy on research slides and presentations
- Adheres to strict deadlines
- Informed on relevant current events and cultural trends
- Communicates with Senior Pastor in a timely and professional manner
- Discerns theological interpretations and commentaries
- Summarizes books articles and reports relevant to the ministry of the Church
- Maintains a digital library of trusted sources and materials
