Job Description
The Nuclear Equipment Operatoris responsible foroperating station equipment and systemsin accordance withAdministrative Procedural and Regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect assigned equipment complete documentation associated with theseinspections andadjust equipment as necessary for proper equipment and system operation.
Monitortrends in equipment performance and inform control room of any unexpected indications.
Identifyand initiate actions for material condition issues.
Perform theinitialactionsin response to an off-normal condition and perform follow up actions as directed
Identifyand correct any abnormal conditions hazards to personnel or equipment or challenges to continuous service if possible and report any findings to the Control Room.
As a member of the site Fire Brigade perform firefighting rescue first aidand chemical spill response activities.
Perform surveillances and special test activities.
Operateequipment tomonitorand process equipment drains.
Satisfactorilyparticipatein a continuing training program structured tomaintainand enhance jobproficiencySkills/Knowledge/Experience
Minimum background and knowledge requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Good computer skills
Good written and verbal skills
Strong teaming skills
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:
Must be able to climb stairs work above and below ground and lift loads up to fifty pounds
Must be able to wear a respirator
Must be able to be a Radiation Worker
Applicant willbe requiredto successfully complete the following to be considered for the position:
Plant Operations System Selection (POSS) test
Fire Brigade physical
Requisites to obtain unescorted access to the power plant whichinclude:psychological examination drug screen and security background check.
