Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician with strong Protection experience to support the installation testing commissioning and maintenance of protection and control systems within substations and power networks.

Duties & Responsibilities

Installation testing and commissioning of protection relays and control panels
Secondary injection testing of protection schemes
Fault finding maintenance and repairs on protection and control systems
Interpretation of protection drawings schematics and wiring diagrams
Assist with substation commissioning and outage work
Ensure compliance with safety quality and industry standards
Prepare test reports and commissioning documentation

Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma or Trade Test in Electrical Engineering
Proven experience as an Electrical Technician with Protection exposure
Hands-on experience with protection relays (e.g. Siemens ABB Schneider SEL)
Knowledge of HV/MV substations and protection schemes
Ability to work independently and within project teams
Willingness to travel and work on-site when required

Advantageous:

Experience with IEC 61850
Substation commissioning experience
Valid drivers license
