Key Responsibilities

As a Primary Teacher in this Leyton school your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Planning preparing and delivering engaging creative and well-structured lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

  • Creating a positive inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning for all pupils

  • Differentiating teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of pupils including SEN EAL and high-achieving learners

  • Using formative and summative assessment to monitor pupil progress and inform planning

  • Setting high expectations for behaviour effort and achievement in the classroom

  • Supporting pupils social emotional and academic development

  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants SEN staff and senior leaders to ensure continuity of learning

  • Contributing to pupil progress meetings interventions and whole-school initiatives

  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and achievement

  • Maintaining accurate records reports and documentation in line with school policy

  • Participating actively in staff meetings professional development sessions and school-wide projects

  • Upholding safeguarding and child protection policies ensuring the welfare and safety of all pupils


The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who demonstrates the following qualities:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)

  • Excellent classroom management skills with a consistent and positive approach to behaviour

  • Commitment to inclusion and high-quality teaching for all pupils

  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners including SEN and EAL pupils

  • Strong organisational planning and time-management skills

  • Collaborative professional and proactive attitude

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pupils parents and colleagues

  • Reflective and committed to continual professional development

Teachers with experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs will be particularly valued though this is not essential.
